About Us

The Irish Valais Blacknose Sheep Society was founded in 2021 following Brexit. Prior to this, Valais Blacknose sheep in Ireland were registered through Grassroots in the UK.

In 2021 a Valais Blacknose flockbook was set up with Sheep Ireland to allow for the registration of pedigree Valais Blacknose Sheep in the Republic of Ireland. 

The society now strives to promote this unique Swiss mountain breed here in Ireland and work towards promoting the Swiss breed standard with the membership.
